The Great Tennessee Airshow - 2023
This show was incredibly special to me, and always will be. This show was my very first behind a lens that I properly bought and intended to shoot aviation with. It was a simple Rebel from Canon, with a kit lens. More importantly, was who was beside me. 4 people, that all had different deep meaning to me.
1) The very man that brought me to my first air show, introduced me to the USAF Thunderbirds, and hooked me to chasing the dream of service and fighter jets; and an incredible father like figure to me for my entire life.
2) My very best friend from my time in uniform, my best man at one point in my life, and one of the single greatest humans I have ever known; and a local Tennessee Air National Guardsman.
3) One of my newest best friends whom I had made in recent years. He travelled across the pond from Switzerland just to attend this show with a near stranger after we had flown simulators together online for a number of years. After this air show, he and I then drove back across America to Massachusetts hitting a number of museums and experiences along the way. TRULY making memories that I will never forget as long as I live together…. here we are planning another trip similarly here at the end of 2026. This was also HIS first airshow.
4) My father figure’s granddaughter, attending her first air show, at basically the same age he had brought me to mine.
This was a full circle trip - full stop - and an amazing experience that I cherish on so many levels.
